An Incredibly Call With Trenton Hughes

BLOWN AWAY would be an understatement! @trentjhughes messaged me the other day to connect and today we had a call.

This guy is THE REAL DEAL.

There was so much jam packed into the 30 min on the call with him that this tweet won’t do it justice, but I’ll give it a shot.

These are my main takeaways from talking with Trenton which double as tips for all other entrepreneurs reaching out to connect with someone.

  1. First and foremost, Trenton is just an incredibly kind dude. This can’t be taught. It just IS. His tone, his genuine interest in what I had to say and meaningful questions. Which leads to the next point.
  2. Ask questions and then listen. He was genuinely wanting to get to know me and asked about all sorts of things. We might be passionate about the entrepreneurial work we do, but getting to know someone personally creates a far deeper connection than anything business related
  3. Be vulnerable. We’re not robots. We aren’t perfect. We’re all going to fail. MULTIPLE times over. Share those stories. Be transparent about the mistakes made and the lessons learned. That’s the stuff that really makes us unique. Only we have lived our story. Share it.
  4. Provide unconditional value. These days most things in life are transactional. So it’s rare and refreshing to find someone who cares without wanting anything in return. I’m not nearly at Trentons level, there’s really nothing that I could offer that he doesn’t already know or have, yet he STILL wanted to chat and share his time.

Trenton is a rockstar and embodies a purpose driven entrepreneur on a mission to make an impact in this industry and build a legacy community. I’m not sure why he wanted to chat with me, but I am EXTREMELY grateful that he did.
