Are you living the dream?

Twitter Post

For those still in your W2, you’ll get this.

For those who have escaped, you’ll also get this…

Generally my coworkers are completely unhappy with being at work.

“Living the dream” is said sarcastically

People are genuinely counting down the days until retirement

Very few people really love the job

So that makes for a lot of grumpy people.

ESPECIALLY when this is all you have.

If this is it for you AND you don’t like doing it, that’s not a fun life to live

But people feel stuck.

They don’t have the bandwidth, understanding or even desire to build something on the side…

So they just try and run out the clock.

What this leads to is a couple of things

  1. resentment towards anyone that is actually trying to build the bridge out

  2. A disconnect between wanting more but not knowing how or what that looks like

This is a nice little twitter bubble where we’re all on the same page.

But I know a handful of you still have to go back to your w2s with all those “grumpies”.

All I can say is—

Hang in there.

Build your bridge.

Keep pushing.
