Building a $1M Community (Part 2)
Part 2 of building an entrepreneur community to $1M/ year with @mhp_guy
We had our best month EVER last month crossing 6 figures with our eyes closed.
808 members as of today
@TS_Secret is popping in Thursday to drop bombs.
We are running this thing with a lean team of 5 basically
Hereās the skinny though⦠communities are difficult.
These are 5 things Iāve learned so far to make it less difficult for you:
- FIX YOUR ONBOARDING. This is the start of the journey for your members. If you mess this up or worse, donāt make it clear OR donāt do anything, people will be lost in the sauce immediately.
You need a welcome email to direct them where to go, then once they get there (Skool, slack, discord, whatever) you need more messages to show them how to navigate and what their mission is. You have to manufacture the engagement.
Just talk to your members. Seriously. Talk to them at least 2 times more than you think you need to. New member calls, one on ones, DMing people to check in, recording random audio or video messages. All of it. People want to be heard and seen. Doing that alone is HUGE.
Record everything. All you AMAs, all your guest speakers, all your new member calls. This does a couple of things. 1) you can repurpose it in so many ways. 2) you can transcribe it and load it into ChatGPT or another LLM to refer back to. More data the better.
Test offers. You donāt have to stick with the first offer you come out with. Maybe you priced it low and realize youāre getting a lot of churn. Ok then raise the price. Maybe itās high and people want more. Okay then provide more! Test offers and pay attention to the personality of member you get. Make sure that personality aligns with what you deliver.
Always come back to the value. Ask yourself that everyday⦠what value can you add to the community? What speakers can you bring in? What resources can you provide. A community is genuinely not about you. Itās about the people.
When you lead with āunreasonable hospitalityā itās hard to lose.
Iāll stop there.
Weāre growing this amazing community of freaking awesome entrepreneurs and im sharing with you the down and dirty of this wild ride.
