Dear Entrepreneur
There’s a great kids book called “Dear Girl” that I’ve read hundreds of times to my daughters.
But the life lessons extend far beyond kids.
There’s a line in there that says:
“Dear Girl,
Find people like you
…find people unlike you”
I think about that often.
As important as it is to surround yourself with like minded people, you also need to be around people that are totally different than you.
You need those opposing perspectives.
For example, two of my business partners are by definition, boomers. At times, it’s frustrating because they don’t always get what I’m trying to say.
BUT more times than not, I need them to not get it, because that forces me to simplify my explanation and think outside of my millennial bubble.
All this to say, as much as you need people on the same page as you, you grow a ton by being around people reading an entirely different “book”.
