Build a Real Website in 10 Minutes for Free

Here's something I did live on a call this week that made a few jaws drop.

Somebody hopped on wanting to sell a super niche product. A little tray that catches the drip off an AC vent. Very specific. Very real problem in humid places. And instead of talking about it, we just built the website. Right there. While we were talking.

Ten minutes later it was LIVE. On the internet. A real URL you could send to a real customer.

No domain. No developer. No monthly website builder subscription. Zero dollars.

Here's the whole trick...

You go into your LLM of choice, Claude or Codex or whatever you like, and you have a conversation. Not a "build me a website" one-liner. An actual conversation. What's the product, who's it for, what problem does it solve, what should the page do. You talk it out first. Then you let it build the HTML.

Then you take that file and drop it into Netlify. That's the part nobody knows about. Netlify will host your site for free. You literally drag the HTML file into the browser and it's live. I've got a TON of little projects sitting in there and I've never hit the free limit.

Want it to look cleaner? Rename the project and the URL updates. Ready to go legit? Buy the $11 domain later and connect it. But you do that AFTER you know the thing works, not before.

This is the part I want to hammer on...

Most people wait. They want the domain, the logo, the perfect design, the whole brand figured out before they'll show anyone anything. And they never ship. Meanwhile you could have a working site in front of a customer TODAY and start learning from it.

It's a test. That's the whole point. You're testing the product, testing the message, testing whether anybody even wants this. Showing a client a one-time thing? Host it on Netlify and send the link. Floating a product idea? Get the ugly version out and start collecting reactions.

One more move that genuinely leveled this up for me. Once you've had that branding conversation and you actually like the colors and the fonts and the feel, tell Claude to save it as a skill. Then every future thing you build stays on brand automatically. You have the conversation ONCE and never fight with it again.

And if you're building an app instead of a website? Same idea, just with more talking up front. Have the full conversation about what you're building and who it's for before you say "go." When I skip that and just say "build me this app," it never comes out how I want it. The conversation is where the magic is. The building is the easy part.

So here's your homework. Think of the simplest thing you've been meaning to put online. A product page. A contact card. A one-pager for a client. Go have the conversation, build the HTML, drop it in Netlify, and send yourself the link.

You are one afternoon away from having a real thing on the internet. Go make it.
