Dreaming Big, the Way Kids Do

Twitter Post

As adults I think we sell ourselves short.

Sometimes it takes a child’s perspective to get us to really dream big and swing for the fences.

A perfect example of this was a story I was told today:

A buddy of mine was trying to decide about a course to take to elevate his business to the next level.

It wasn’t cheap. That’s what made the decision difficult.

He was sharing this decision openly with his kids while making dinner the other night and unanimously his kids thought he should do it. Immediately and without question.

He was shocked and pleasantly surprised.

While they might not totally understand the value of a dollar or the work that might be involved, what they do understand is—

The ability to DREAM.

To try new things

To not know how to do something and figure it out

To shoot for the moon as if you have nothing to lose

To be fearless and courageous

Kids have a wonderful ignorance that we lose as life breaks us down.

I think those of us that are somehow able to hang on to as much of that child like energy and enthusiasm ultimately “win”.
