Escape Velocity
Escape velocity — The point at which you believe that you can make the leap from the hamster wheel you’re on, to the life that you were meant to live.
Escape velocity is subjective. It’s different for everyone. It’s not universally quantifiable and more personal to YOU and your position.
Some might need a number to hit.
Some it’s a point in time where everything changes
For some it’s a feeling that they are being called elsewhere and they have to make the jump.
Let me start by being fully transparent here— I am not yet at escape velocity, but the timeline that I had in my head, changed drastically recently.
And sometimes that happens. Sometimes you just WAKE UP from the sleep that you’re in and realize that you’re nowhere you’re supposed to be.
Sometimes it’s an incident or experience or connection that takes place that SLAPS you across the face and snaps you out of the zombie mode you were in.
Humans are creatures of habits. We like routine and stability. We seek safety, assurance and comfort. It’s VERY easy to fall victim to “clocking in and clocking out” and then waking up one day with a truck load of “what if’s” and “I wish I would haves”…
I don’t know about you, but I’m not okay with that.
I refuse to go through the prime years of my life living for the weekend and waking up sick to my stomach Monday mornings knowing what’s ahead.
But then what?
What can be done?
What can you build to achieve escape velocity?
While I don’t have the exact formula for you, I am truly trying to figure it out. And I promise to share the lessons with you along the way.
For now, I’ll leave you with a couple ideas that maybe you can chew on
Start a home service that you feel like you can tackle. Christmas lights, lawn care stump grinding, painting, power washing, brush clearing… I could go on, but there’s very few things that will be put just getting in and getting your hands dirty.
Build an agency. This is a semi sexy topic in the entrepreneur world. It sounds really great and actually can be extremely lucrative, but you need to really hone in on your niche. And if you want, you go even further. For example— I’m actually trying to build one out in the home service space. Tackling SEO, conversion rate optimization, AI integration, etc. but if I wanted I could go deeper and just do lawn care and landscape work. Feel it out and go where the demand is
There’s plenty more where those came from, but I’ll let those digest for now.
If you’re in this battle right now, just know that I’m in your corner. You’re not alone with this and if you wanna share some of what you’re trying to figure out, I’d love to hear.
