Sure, okay, yes, she was drunk …

BUT let’s put that aside here…

This is not the first time the national anthem has been butchered…

“Overconfidence bias” is the root of this here.

No, not “liquid courage”.

“Overconfidence Bias” is where you are more confident in your ability to do something than you should be.

As entrepreneurs, it’s SO easy to fall into this trap. Here’s how to correct it and use it to your advantage 🧵

First let’s talk about the problems:

  1. Poor decision making - You’ll underestimate risk and over estimate your knowledge or ability.

  2. Not learning from mistakes - Being too confident can lead to you not learn from the things that actually went wrong

  3. Missed opportunities - If you’re too confident in your “path”, you’ll miss opportunities that could lead to growth and success

Now, how do we use this overconfidence bias to our advantage??

I’ll tell ya 👇

  1. Motivation - Use your confidence to take on difficult challenges head on. But make sure you still prepare…

  2. Being a leader - Showing your confidence can rally your team to accomplish incredible things

  3. Innovation - Use your confidence to be comfortable in the uncomfortable and take risks (calculated) that others won’t be willing to take.

Overconfidence can be a super power if you use it properly.

Just don’t be caught unprepared… or drunk signing the National Anthem 😬
