How To Get Your Book Into Airport Bookstores
Ever wondered how you could get a book you write placed into an airport bookstore?
Me too!
So I did some digging and this is what I found out boiled down to 4 helpful tips

- First and foremost, without trying to pop any bubbles, it’s going to be an uphill battle if you’re self published.
There’s a handful of major players that supply most of the books for airport stores.
If you are self published, find a distributor that has established contracts with the airport retailers like “Hudson News” or “Paradies Lagardere”
- “If you serve the classes, you’ll live with the masses. But if you serve the masses, you’ll live with the classes.”
In this case, mass appeal wins.
These bookstores prioritize more broad and mainstream content.
Think— books that will be popular with business travelers or vacationers.
Known the requirements— Airport bookstores often have pretty specific requirements like price point, hard cover/paperback preference, length, etc. knowing these ahead of time and formatting in that direction plays to your favor.
It’s who you know— Network at trade shows like BookExpo where you can meet these distributors face to face and share your story and your
