I Don’t Do New Years Resolutions, I Do This Instead
I don’t do New Year’s resolutions, Instead I reassess the systems in place to reach the goals that I have .
That might sound the same, but it’s not.
New Year’s resolutions often are just empty goals.
I’m going to tell read more I’m going to workout more I’m going to eat healthier I’m going to make more money
Awesome. I love that for you. But HOW?
Systems.
And the best systems are sustainable. Ones that you can stay consistent with. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Then the work you put into the system compounds and adds up to a kick a$$ year.
I don’t have it all figured out. But I am building the systems to make “it” happen.
My “it” might different from your “it”, but we all have one.
From a full time police officer with 3 kids, 3 businesses and more projects in the air than I’d like to admit, here is what my systems did for me in 2024 and the BLUEPRINT that I’m giving away to you in hopes you can do the same.
Seriously though, I spent $150 to build this because I think it’s worth it that much.
2024:
- Competed in 3 jiujitsu competitions
- ran 4 running races including my first marathon
- Launched a podcast
- Wrote over 400 articles
- Read/ Finished/ Currently reading 47 books
- Grew my Twitter following 10X
- Went on 3 family vacations
- 6 mini adventures
- Had a third child
- Started 2 businesses
- Started writing a book
And these are just the TANGIBLE wins. There were so many more.
The blueprint is simple. I’ll lay it out here but I’ll also provide you with the full blown template you can use
FIRST: Write down up to 5 for each of these categories of “personal landmarks”
HEALTH
WEALTH
RELATIONSHIPS
GROWTH
SECOND: Choose one BIG goal this year you want to pursue. This will be your “Misogi”
THIRD: Plan out 6 mini adventures you’ll go on. Either solo or with your family
FOURTH: Choose one winning habit to focus on each quarter - An example might be to turn your phone on do not disturb for the first hour you’re home after work
LAST, pick daily vitamins or “non negotiables” that you will complete ever day if you can in order to move the needle forward on your other goals.
Examples:
Read 20 pages Workout ASL Spanish Wordle Write something 1 post + 5 replies / day BIG DAD ENERGY - Walk in each workday and don’t touch my phone for the first 30min I’m home x4 days
Even if you do like 50% of what I'm talking about here, you'll crush the year.
