I Gave an AI Presentation — These Were the Only Questions That Mattered
I was invited to give an AI presentation to a local construction company. Here are the top 3 questions they asked and what I told them.
1/ "I don't even know what to ask AI."
You don't need to. Start with what annoys you most at work. The thing that takes way too much of your time. Even if you don't know what's possible. Tell AI about it like you're complaining to a coworker about the problem you have. Then that can be your first prompt.
2/ "How do you know which AI to use? Is there a cheat sheet?"
Honestly, for most people it doesn't matter. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini. Pick one. It's like Yahoo vs Google in 2004. Eventually one pulls ahead. Right now just get in the game.
3/ "Do you have to know how to code to build a website with AI?"
I can't write a single line of code. I literally just built a full fashion design app for my 7 year old daughter on the couch this morning. The "you need to learn to code" era Is gone.
Last Note: The guy with the most fear had the most experience. But right now, the most experience is actually what we want/ need. Lived experience only makes what you do with AI that much better.
