I got hustled by two 6th graders last night…
Let me explain.
Two kids roll up on their e-bike and show me their TikTok immediately saying that they clean trash bins for $15.
They didn’t have me with that deal, but of course I want to know more about their business. And of course I ask.
They have 30ish customers between car washes and trash bins.
They make about $200/week
They were a little unsure on these numbers, but either way, that’s not bad.
I told them I didn’t need my bins but I loved their hustle.
But here’s where it got interesting…
Instead of walking away, they countered.
“We can wash your truck”
Now you have my attention.
It JUST SO HAPPENED, I was so for a wash, and it showed.
$30 for a wash and detail inside.
DEAL.
One problem. They didn’t have a hose with them.
They got a handshake agreement from me and then road away really quick to grab a hose.
When they got back, like every real entrepreneur story, they ran into a problem; the hose had a hole.
But they problem solved and road away to grab another.
Back again, they got to work and crushed it!
Still figuring things out, but all in all, they were rockstars.
Funny thing was, when I told my wife, she said she would have gone for the bin cleaning.
So these kids might eventually have us as long term car AND bin cleaning customers.
The hustle is alive and well with these two.
