Is life a marathon or a sprint for you?

Is life a marathon or a sprint for you?

Why can’t it be both?

I think it should be.

We all know the marathon life monologues. But let’s talk about the sprints for a sec.

And when I say sprint, what I’m referring to is the opposite of slow steady and consistent.

Sprint being for a short, specific period of time that is in direct contrast with normal operations.

For example, I eat extremely “dialed in”. I know my daily and weekly calorie ranges all broken down to grams of protein, carbs and fat each day.

That’s the marathon for me. That’s the NORMAL pace. That’s the long term investment.

But at times, I integrate sprints. This comes in form of an entire pizza all to myself, having some donuts on Sunday, drinking a real Coke (gasp) from time to time.

The key here is that I’m extremely intentional with each one of those sprints. Those are not willy nilly. I know what I’m doing and when the sprint is over, it’s back to normal pace.

I don’t think I was going any deeper with this than what I’ve already said.

Integrate some strategic sprints from time to time.
