Is The Money Worth It?
I work with a guy that’s been a cop since the ’80s.
Cop years are like dog years. Every year is like 7 on the body and mind. This guy has been here WAY too long.
And he’s paid the price, multiple times over.
Divorced three times. ALWAYS on shift.
BUT, he made $320K last year…
$200K of it in overtime.
Sure, that looks great on paper…Maybe.
But ask him what he does outside of work—there’s nothing.
No hobbies.
No vacations.
No family waiting at home.
Just a bigger paycheck and an empty house.
Money’s a tool, not the goal.
I realize I’m still pushing a black and white, but I see situations like this all too often and I don’t want to touch that life with a 10’ pole.
Here’s the goal— Build a life you love.
Spend time with your family.
Keep that family together.
Because at the end, no one wishes they worked more overtime.
Lastly, “if you’re earning what you need to live the life that you want and loving everyday of it, you’re crushing it” — @garyvee
I don’t have the answers, but I’m working on it.
And I promise to share the blueprint with you along the way.
