Momentum Is Found In The Messy Middle

Twitter Post

I think one of the most important jobs of an entrepreneur is to get something out the door.

Not to get it right, but to get it MOVING.

I know that’s a hard pill to swallow. Especially for those that have heard the phrase “how you do one thing is how you do everything”.

While there’s validity in that phrase, I’ll be honest, it doesn't tell the whole story.

What this breeds is a perfectionist culture where everything needs to be tip top.

Momentum is found in the messy middle.

Do you think Google started out with perfection? Nope.

Seth Godin tells this story of meeting Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, at a conference during the early days.

Brin mentioned, "My name is Sergey, and I have this little search engine called Google..."

Brin went on to say "...We know that Google is going to get better every single day as we work on it, and we know that sooner or later, everyone is going to try it. So our feeling is that the later you try it, the better it is for us because we make a better impression with better technology.”
