Hey! Sorry for the off-schedule message but I have some super exciting news that I wanted to share with you. PLUS you play a part in it!
TLDR โ
I built my own email platform and I'm transitioning over. Help me not land in your spam ;)
Quick backstory:
The other day I saw a charge on my credit card for $390 that caught me off guard. It was for the ConvertKit subscription I have for my newsletters. It's NEVER been that much though. And I definitely don't have enough subscribers for it to cost that much.
That felt crazy to me! So I decided to do something about it. I decided I'd make my own platform (inspired by what Marc Lou did)โฆ because, well, I can. And YOU CAN JUST DO THINGS.
So I went to work reproducing almost an identical platform. It has all my automations, sequences, stats, and sign up forms that ConvertKit had. But (and most importantly) it's mine. I built it. I can change it. I can take away or add to it and launch a new feature whenever I want.
Oh, and I'm not going to charge myself $390/year for it. For me alone, it'll be a couple bucks a month at the most.
But here's the one and only tricky part โ I have to wire this up and transition over to my new platform. To do that, I'm sending this email out in small chunks and updating all you amazing people!
If you've enjoyed following along this wild journey with me through failed ventures, career leaps, and a few successes sprinkled in there, stick around! It'd be an honor to keep writing to you.
One thing does change for you. This email is coming from kevin@mail.kevinbellco.com. It might land in spam or promotions. ๐ฌ
If it does, it'd be AWESOME if you could move it to your inbox, and even shoot me a reply if you feel like it. That helps your email provider know you want to hear from me.
Sunday Doughnuts stays the same. Same day, same dude over here writing it.
I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about this. If something breaks, it's on me now. BUT I'm also pretty excited, because a year ago I wouldn't have thought I could build something like this.
If this one reaches you, hit reply and let me know you got it. And if you're building something of your own right now, I'd LOVE to hear about it. I read every reply.
Talk soon,
Kevin
