Nostalgia vs. AI
Over this last weekend my wife and I went down a 90s movie rabbit hole with our kids.
It was through this movie marathon that we became nostalgic of a “simpler time”.
When the only way to watch a movie (outside of renting it) was when it was “on”. Whatever was “on” was what you had to watch
the smell of carpet, plastic and windex from your Friday night Blockbuster
when you watched a movie over and over so many times you memorized every single line
When you had specific friends that owned specific movies that you liked and you’d plan a hangout JUST to watch that movie
So why is this relevant? Well, I think this is SUPER relevant because CONTRAST is attractive.
As the world becomes more and more involved and entangled with AI everything, the desire for nostalgia will increase.
This will show itself in Vlogs using old school cameras, people taking pictures and actually printing them out, more drive in movie nights, more physical books being printed, social gatherings in person, more snail mail being sent, fax machines becoming fun and cool again… the list goes on.
Make sure you are in the know with AI- it’s our future, but DONT SLEEP on the power of analogue. It’s making a STRONG comeback.
