Opposites Create Opportunity
I believe that success can be found in extreme contrasts.
Where there’s one way that’s working, there’s another completely opposite opportunity that will work.
This isn’t a rule of thumb, but something I’ve noticed.
Everyone (including myself) is head over heals about AI
The contrast can be found in
home services
real film cameras
in person mastermind
etc.
Newsletters are crushing. The contrast is an appeal for hand written snail mail letters.
As audio books or book summary apps advance, the contrast is actual physical books.
And the REAL success comes from understanding both sides of the coin.
If you put your flag in one camp, you are missing out on the opportunities from the other side.
Elvis did this best by making and selling “I hate Elvis” pins
This contrast can also make you successful in your personal life—
Working out, keeping your diet clean 95% of the time, but still enjoying a doughnut on occasion.
It’s a carrot to chase and the contrast can keep you sane and even MORE motivated.
I think we want to package our beliefs and actions into certain camps. We want to identify in one way or another and operate black and white. Do or don’t. Good and bad… but sometimes… often times, both sides are valid.
I’m not saying to operate in the grey. I’m literally saying that the Yin and Yang need bleach other.
Life is a spectrum. It might take longer to figure out this way, but embracing each end of the spectrum is a sure path to doing GREAT things.
