Shaboozey Is A Genius Entrepreneur

Twitter Post

Shaboozey is taking the world by storm with his new song A Bar Song (Tipsy)

At over 60 million radio airplay impressions, 45 million streams and 23,000 sold, it’s safe to say that he’s crushing it.

But this isn’t a story about Shaboozey or his new song, this is a story about entrepreneurship and continuing to stay in the fight, be consistent and learn when/how to pivot.

I’ll use this analogy from Shannon Jean before I break this down. “If you just keep pulling the slingshot further and further back, eventually you’ll let it go and it will just take off!”

Like any other entrepreneur or start up, you have to start somewhere. It’s rare that your first project or business makes you millions.

How many millionaires are still selling packs of gum or lemonade like they did in elementary school? Not too many.

Shaboozey’s “product” is his music and he beta tested through multiple genres.

Shaboozey entered the music industry in the hip hop and R&B world and was able to make some waves there, but not big enough waves. Not world wide waves.

When you have a product that you know will provide value, in this case his music, sometimes you have to take that product and adjust it just a bit.

You have to keep your eyes open for trends and opportunities that you can capitalize on.

Shaboozey was able to do that EXTREMELY well.

He used the musical talent he already had and put a new spin on an old song in a completely different genre than people would expect from him.

This created an entirely new sound that has BLOWING UP!

In comparison to another “product”, think about companies like Slack that actually started out as a game development company.

What you see from Slack NOW was actually the communications system they built for their internal team. Not for the public.

THE LESSON:

More than anything, this is a lesson of not settling with your first iteration.

Don’t be afraid of pivoting outside of your comfort zone, outside of what people know you for, outside the norm.

Push your limits and continue to pulling that slingshot back. One day when you let go, it’s going to TAKE OFF.

My name is Kevin Bell and I’m obsessed with entrepreneurship. I see business opportunities in just about everything and love talking about them and sharing them with you.

If you enjoyed this and want to share it, I will personally ‘like’ the share! And most likely DM you thanking you for doing that! 😉
