Sometimes You Just Need To Vent
Doing a patrol check in a high crime area and a lady walks up to my unit and looks like she wants to say something.
I roll down the window and say hello.
Lady— “I have a question, why are you always harassing the homeless??”
Me— waiting for her to finish
Lady— “what’s wrong with a little drugs and some stealing? Can’t you just let them be??”
Me— it sounds like you have a predetermined opinion about this. I’m happy to chat with you, but it sounds like you’re just frustrated…
Lady— “ya I’m just frustrated.”
Me— ok cool, thank you for sharing your feelings. Have a great day, ma’am.
Not everything needs to be an argument. Sometimes people just need to vent.
