I just talked to a dude who vibecoded an app that now has 500 paying subscribers on it.
Oh and he’s 18 years old.
Here are the deets:
He saw a gap in the market for clipping software.
There’s a couple big dawgs out there, but none of which had the features and capabilities he knew were possible.
There’s a big difference between clipping videos and FINDING the viral clips from the content and clipping that.
That’s what takes time and why editors are still needed.
Instead of this just being an idea, he freaking built it.
His first users were through organic reach on X sharing his journey.
There was initial traction but when he doubled down with posting about the app, his following grew by 20k+ in 4 months.
That is NOT normal. Just fyi.
He took away the free plan, leaned into subreddit posting and set automations to find where his customers are and what they’re talking about.
Again, he’s 18 and not an engineer.
