I’ll preface this by saying that I have her permission to share this. She was my first hire and has truly become a second brain of mine.
Comfortable means different things to different people. Sometimes comfortable Is simply just being able to pay bills, buy food and settle debts.
75% of her salary goes to her parents for medical bills, household expenses, and food and she takes pride in being able to do that.
It’s super easy to be so laser focused on what you’re doing and building and not feel like a success or that you’re making an impact…
But it’s conversations like this that remind me that success is relative. And our focus should remain close to home with the “local” impact we’re making.
Take the time to ask the deep questions to your people. It’ll be a great reminder or a much needed gut check. Both are important.
