The BEST Blogging Platform Out There

Twitter Post

———————————————————————

About a year ago I began to search for the BEST BLOGGING PLATFORM.

I had been writing extensively and posting in various areas, but I still hadn’t really found the “home base” for the words that I wanted … other than my iPhone notes.

I wanted something that felt like it was mine. A place that I could easily and quickly post the content and keep it housed regardless of the other places it went.

So I went down a deep dive of research to find the BEST BLOGGING PLATFORM.

Here’s what I found

🧵

I built a squarespace site and spent way too much time and money making it “perfect”. But it still didn’t feel right.

I went the Wordpress route and even hired a VA to build out and post my blogs… but that within itself was a bottleneck. I wanted to be able to do it at any time, with EASE. That was also more expensive than I wanted. No good.

Inspired by Seth Godins blog with its minimalism and extensive archive of everything that he writes, I wanted that… but I couldn’t figure out HOW.

Maybe my writing was going to be permanently housed on my phone until it gets distributed in one place or another. I guess I was okay with that…🤷🏻‍♂️

But then I found Derek Sivers. If you’re an entrepreneur and don’t know Derek, you should immediately go buy and read all of his books. He’s Incredible. Start with “Anything You Want”.

After binging his books, I did a deep dive on him and his site is EXACTLY what I was looking for. So I emailed him.

Derek gets it. The idea of having ONE centralized location for your writing that can stand the test of time was something he understood well.

Same with Seth Godin and Paul Graham. Simple, clean, timeless.

Derek taught himself to program and built out his own site, so he suggested either doing that OR using Bearblog.dev. I haven’t looked back since.

Bearblog.dev is HIGHLY underrated and by far the easiest and most effective blogging platform for housing your swirling ideas before AND after they get posted elsewhere.

It’s just like it sounds, the BEAR necessities. Only what you need to create an awesome blog and nothing more.

Its founder and creator Herman Martinus wanted to build an alternative to the feature-heavy platforms out there. Focused on what matters, the writing. A no-nonsense, super-fast blogging experience addressing what he called “website obesity crisis.” With the bloated nature of all these modern websites, filled with scripts, ads, etc.

It’s legit.

If you’re still with me here and think this is as cool as I do, here’s how I use Bearblog.dev

  1. I write out my article in my iPhone notes.
  2. Copy that over to bearblog
  3. Save it as a draft
  4. Copy it over to whatever other platform I’m posting to
  5. Copy the link to that post
  6. Save and post the Bearblog page

There’s other various ways that I’m releasing content; newsletters, Medium, Twitter, etc. but it all starts on bearblog and I can do it from my phone or computer in just a couple of minutes.

If you have the words in your head that you want to get out into the world and need a simple place to start, start there. WHEN you feel comfortable, you can share them elsewhere. Until then, get those awesome ideas into the world. We’d love to hear them.

If this was useful or valuable to you, come around again, I appreciate you 😉
