The Costco Approach to Closing Clients

Twitter Post

I just heard from a guy who sold two websites last week without a single pitch.

He know has them paying monthly and upsells them on bigger services.

This is super cool.

Here's what he does:

  1. He builds the site first with GHL. Takes about 5 minutes. Then he shows up in person or after a cold call and says:

"i noticed you don't have a website, so i built you one."

  1. He opens the laptop. Walks them through it. Let's them click around with their logo, their hours, their photos, contact info etc.

By the time he asks if they want it, its not really a sale anymore. OF COURSE THEY WANT IT

  1. He charges $75/mo for the domain, hosting, edits, automation.

But we all know thats not where the real money is.

  1. The website is the foot in the door. Once theyre paying him monthly, he becomes their marketing guy. Runs their ads. Adds booking systems. AI receptionists.

ALL UPSELLS.

Trying to sell paid ads to a stranger is brutal. BUT... Selling a website they see right in front of them is much easier... so he says.

  1. He calls it the Costco approach. Those free sample stations make Costco a fortune because once somethings in your hands, you've already bought it in your head.

One dude and a laptop is all you need
