Here’s how this mystery… and shady, billionaire started.
Like so many young entrepreneurs, it started with a lemonade stand.
On rainy days or cooler weather, he pivoted and fixed bicycles for the neighborhood kids.
He had the entrepreneur itch.
At 10 years old he entered the paper route biz. This was no small time route; he had 120 customers and was HUSTLING.
His boss was in high school and moving on to bigger and better things. He offered to sell the route to our young entrepreneur here for $500.
As just a kid, he negotiated seller financing, offering to pay a small down payment and then installments over time.
That didn’t go over well with his 15 year old boss, but that didn’t deter him. He found a way.
He convinced the seller to give him more time in order to come up with money to buy the route.
Through adding extra services like delivering on Sundays, providing doughnuts, bagels and other specialty requests, he was able to buy the paper route.
At the time, this route made him about $200/ week.
This was all before he hit puberty.
Partly out of necessity to EARN and partly because he was just a natural entrepreneur, this kid was destined to do BIG things.
And big things he did.
Both good and bad.
