This Is How I Win The Day
The day is won in the morning.
I’m never rushing out of bed and straight to work. At that point you’ve already lost.😬
It might suck, but sometimes that means I wake up at 2:45 AM to get a workout in before the day gets ahead of me.
Here’s my morning routine that basically shapes everything that follows.
🧵
First, win the mental game.
I get my 🧠 working immediately:
- Wordle
- Duolingo & ASL
- A few solid newsletters
@mhp_guy reading yours is like Redbull straight to the veins
That’s just 20 minutes. No scrolling. Just intentional input.
Next, I read 10-20 pages.
Some days it’s all at once, some days I split it up. Always 20+ tho.
But every single day, I read. Non negotiable
You could also use this time to write. Put pen to paper. Organize your mind. Think through ideas. Whatever.
Another 20 minutes.
Then, I MOVE.
Another Non-negotiable. It doesn’t matter if it’s:
- A full lift session
- Push-ups & sit-ups in the living room
- A walk outside
Just move. Do something.
At this point you have done more in the first hour of your day than most people do in a week. Or more.
Now, it’s time to grub
Simple, protein-focused… and coffee of course
The foundation for my day is built. The rest of the day SHOULD fall into place… but here’s the thing, it never fully does.
That’s why I do these things so early. The rest of the day is unpredictable. My morning is generally controllable.
All that is 1-1.5 hours and it COMPLETELY shapes my day.
Nothing crazy. Nothing out of reach. Just stacking wins early so everything else follows.
You don’t need motivation. You need momentum.
I don’t have everything figured out, but I do have a darn good morning routine… and a solid newsletter on how I’m building an empire while working as a full time cop. Follow along 😉
