What I Learned From A YouTube Star With 500k Subscribers

Twitter Post

I spend 40+ hours a week with a YouTube Star that has over 500k subscribers.

Here’s what I’ve learned

🧵

  1. The algorithm is a slave driver and VERY particular

Notice the short on the top left. 5k views. Do you see a difference between that thumbnail and all the other ones? Yep.

That tiny difference costs over 100k views.

  1. He’s now monetized. Surprisingly, the videos with the most views don’t always have to most payout.

This Tree short made more than the 3.2M view short. Why? Most likely engagement. They’re the exact same script.

  1. Speaking of engagement, responding to comments is EXTREMELY important and it’s not easy at that level.

But the more responsive you are, the more engagement you get.

  2. It’s not just about the growth

it’s not just about the trend

it’s not just about the keywords

It’s ALL of it.

Example:

The Sprunki’s are helping him gain the most subscribers while the Stitch is a trending search word. He’s making videos for both.
