X wasn’t ready for the engagement I was about to disperse.
I had just finished a workout, coffee was brewing, phone in hand, sitting on the couch in the dark quiet morning…
words were swirling ready to be launched into orbit
But then I hear something…
Shuffles of feet coming down the stairs
I pause and look up from my couch desk to see a tiny little body slowly peak around the corner.
I set my phone down mid type and wave her over.
She giggles over and stops right in front of me prepping for her big ask…
“Dad, can we watch ONE episode of Bluey?”
YES. Of course.
Phone down. Words pinned for later. Rocket boosters turned off. Snuggles engaged.
