Pay attention to why people show up

Blog · Oct 20, 2026

You're searching for something. You might not even know what it looks like yet... but you know it's there.

I was on a call this week with our community and I got a little reflective.

We've been running this thing for about 18 months now, give or take. And when you do anything for that long you start to notice patterns in why people come in and why people leave.

And honestly it boils down to something pretty simple. Somebody is watching a creator's content and one video just hits them. Like it speaks directly to them. And they go, oh my gosh, I need to be in there, because I need to figure out how to do this.

So they show up. And they're searching for an answer or a tactic or a solution that they might not even know what it looks like yet, but they know it's there.

My role, my mission really, is to help provide that. Turn people the right way and help them get over the hump. I LOVE doing that. But I want to be more successful at it.

So I started asking the team, guys, what more can we do? Because we can't just give people money. We need a system of some kind that helps people make the money they want to make.

When you watch why people show up long enough, the patterns start telling you what to build.

Once we started paying attention, two kept showing up over and over. Home service and AI. Small business and AI, brick and mortar, virtual, all of it.

And we're in this beautiful position where so many guests have come through with so many individual things that made them money, and we get to see all of it up close. That's when the pieces started to come together.

The part I think matters for anybody building anything right now is that it's still in progress. As we're talking about it, we're building it. Things need to be built out and validated and tested with people outside of our own little circle before it's real.

Maybe we're off base. But I think we've found a way to help people actually get where they want to go.

We don't even have a name for it yet. I don't know if I'd call it a series or modules or whatever. We're just rolling with it because we think there's a lot of opportunity there.

If you run a business, a community, a newsletter, a side hustle, whatever... you have this same data sitting right in front of you. Every person who buys, joins, or DMs you showed up for a reason. Every person who leaves had a reason too. Most of us are too busy to stop and actually look at it.

Here's your homework:

  • Write down the last five people who bought from you, joined your thing, or reached out. What were they searching for when they found you?
  • Do the same for the people who left. Why did they go?
  • Circle the one pattern that keeps showing up and sketch the simplest version of a system that would solve it.
  • Test that rough version with someone outside your circle this week, before it feels ready.

Like I told the crew on the call... you gotta test everything. Except for drugs.

Stay in the fight, Kevin
