Main St. Summit 2024 is here.

One of the BEST conferences around. If you’re in the SMB world, THIS is summit to be at.

While I’m not there this year, I have been to a handful of conferences over the years and wrote an article about conference do’s and dont’s

I’ll drop the article below, but here’s the overview:

  1. You don’t need business cards. Use an app like BLINQ or just share contacts.

  2. Don’t spend hundreds on fancy clothes. Look up what the attire is and then just be you. People want authenticity.

  3. Go to the gym. You’d be amazed the connections that are made by recognizing a fellow gym goer

  4. Have an elevator pitch about yourself prepared. Steal mine and make it your own.

  5. Bring value. Figure out what you bring to the table and sneak that into a convo

  6. Follow up with purpose. A few days to a week post conference, reach out to those you really connected with and keep in touch.

—> Build connections in the hallways and out of the conference room

—> Take notes about who you meet. Wrote down all the details you can so that you can recall them when you see that person again. It’ll make a big difference when you remember the little details
